Advent and Christmas in Český Krumlov 2019

Present giveaways on St. Nicholas Day, Bear and Dog Christmas, end of the year celebration, advent and Christmas markets, concerts, angelic procession through the town, nativity scenes, angelic monasteries, the arrival of the Three Kings, Christmas and rock concerts, theatre performances, guided tours, games, fairy tales and especially bright eyes of children and open hearts of adults. An interesting and rich culture programme for all the Advent weekends and Christmas holidays is prepared and you are cordially invited.
The traditional old-fashioned Czech advent market will begin on Friday the 29th November and will entice you with the scent of Christmas punch, mulled wine and Christmas cookies until 6th January. Small gifts, traditional products with Christmas themes or decorations will also be available.

The spell of the city in Advent time will intensify the traditional program: the Music and Poetry filled Advent Opening and Lighting of the Christmas Tree (December 1), the Joint Singing not only of the Carols (December 15 and 22), the Angelic Procession through the Town (December 5), the Arrival of St. Nicolas (December 5), Procession of Christmas elves (December 11), the Advent-themed Photo Session at the Museum Photo Studio Seidel (23rd and 24th November and 7th - 8th December), special Angelic Advent Saturday at the Monasteries, Christmas for Dogs (December 20), Czech Christmas Mass (December 26 at the Monastery Church), Giving the Bethlehem Light (December 21st) or Christmas for the bears (December 24). The magical end of the pre-Christmas period will be Living Bethlehem (December 23) - a live biblical image with Christmas carol singing.
The Baby Jesus Post Office receives this year children's letters to Baby Jesus since Sunday 1st December. The mailbox for children's letters will be available at the Svornosti square on the small bell tower under the Christmas tree. On Sunday 8 December, at 3 pm, Baby Jesus Post Office will be opened at Golden Angel, and at 4.30 pm the White Lady will be visiting our town and she will then deliver the children's letters to Baby Jesus.
