Handicapped Day – A Day Without Barriers 2008
This is already the fifth time that we invite you to visit the historical town of Český Krumlov and just as in the previous years “without barriers”. This year the day falls on Saturday 13 September. For some of you this event, called “Handicapped Day – A Day Without Barriers” has become a tradition, a pleasant opportunity to visit some of the places you treasure and like returning to. This year we have as usual prepared visits to most interesting things the town has to offer. With the help of personal assistants and volunteer you can visit the 2nd Castle viewing route adjusted for wheelchair users, the baroque theatre, Egon Schiele Art Center , the Fairytale House or some of Krumlov museums. A new addition this year is the recently opened Museum Photo Studio Seidel.
For those of you with a thirst for adventure, we have again prepared the popular raft and flatboat rides on the Vltava River. And there is a new twist to this year’s gathering: while “we” will try to limit the barriers that limit you, in return “you” will take care of entertainment for all of us. During the entire day you can visit the protected workshops’ produce market on the central square. This will also be the site of a rich cultural programme. There will be performances by the singing choir of the Arpida Children’s Center in České Budějovice, singer Lenka Čermáková, theatre group 927 from Žatec and the musical ensemble from Jedličkův Institute The TAP TAP with the singer Dan Bárta as a guest.
We can spend the evening together in the Eggenberg Brewery gardens listening to the concert of Dan Bárta and his band Illustratosphere. We are organizing this concert in co-operation with the “Jazz at the End of the Summer” Festival.
