In 2008 there will be the Olympic Games in Peking and therefore people will get enourmously interested in China,its history and culture. Egon Schiele Art Centre wasted no time and in cooperation with National Gallery in Prague, National Gallery in Peking, private galleries, collectors and artists prepared cycle of extra quality exhibitions combining both classical and contemporary art, both Asian and European and introducesexhibitions of traditional and contemporary Chinese art. Within the framework of this project some Chinese artists will work in Český Krumlov ateliers.
The exhibitions will take place in the premises outreaching 3000m2 in the existing exhibition premises of former municipal brewery and also for the first time in unique Renaissance attic area of brewery premises.
On 31st October 2008 90 years will pass from the early death of Egon Schiele. To commemorate this event ESAC prepared for autumn and winter season exhibitions of two artists of similar fate Hermann Steiner (1891-1914) and Jan Autengruber (1887-1920).
