Ecofilm 2007 - film invitation to the southern Bohemia
The Southbohemian region is famous for its quaint villages, restored towns, beautiful natural scenery - clean ponds, flowering meadows or beautiful forests. This region pleases the soul of its visitor. It is not by chance that the eleventh year of International film festival about natural environment, natural and cultural heritage called the Ecofilm takes place here in the towns of České Budějovice and Český Krumlov. The festival was found in Ostrava 33 years ago and is the oldest film festival of this kind in Europe. Since 2000 it is the member of international natural environment festival association ECOmove International which has a base in Berlin. As the years passed the festival has changed and today a row of interesting films, lectures, talks and workshops and other accompanying events the theme of which varies from natural environment to the natural and cultural heritage can be seen. Contemporary Ecofilm ranks to the most important social and professional events organized in the territory of the Southbohemian region and more people are getting interested in it each year.
The main enunciator of the festival is the Department of the Environment and Auviex agency which has much experience with organizing of similar events is the main organizer. For 16 years in the town of Český Krumlov the agency for example has organized the longest summer music festival in the Czech Republic - Český Krumlov International Music Festival during which it introduces prominent artists from all over the world or realizes more-day professional congresses or other social events according to its clients´ wishes.
During Ecofilmu quality films are being projected
This year the Ecofilm will take place from 8-14th October. The festival is a competition, there are more than 140 films from all over the world registered out of which 40 are Czech ones. Approximately one third of the registered shots will participate in the competition. They will be evaluated by the international professional jury. All fims can be watched in Kotva Cinema in České Budějovice and in the Southbohemian University or in the Mint of Krumlov castle or in J&K.Cinema in Český Krumlov. Traditional offer to the visitors are the individual projections of all registered shots in the project rooms of the castle Mint where on Sunday 14th October morning the winning shots will be projected „The best of Ecofilmu 2007“. The festival can be visited by anybody, the advantage is the admission free.
The festival is not only enlightening, but also amusing
Panel discussion and seminaries in the biological faculty of Southbohemian University are very popular, especially among young people . Every year interesting foreign guests participate. During the Ecofilmu you can watch, learn many interesting things and you will amuse not only with the authors of several competition films.This year there will be singing too.
On Friday 12th October Traband group will perform in Český Krumlov.
The culmination of the festival is every time the festive giving out and handing over the prizes to the winning films which will take place on Saturday 13th October in the beautiful premises of the castle Riding Hall in Český Krumlov.
