Český Krumlov will turn into Magical Krumlov on 30 April and 1 May. These traditional spring arrival celebrations will bring a varied schedule of events taking place in the Brewery gardens.
Local grammar school will join in the May celebrations for the first time with the rag day on 30 April, a costumed procession through the town and performances of individual groups and student music bands.
The witch afternoon for children returns again giving kids the opportunity to play, paint a picture and roast the first sausage of this year over open fire. Krumlov Fair will introduce local non profit organizations, schools, festivals and other such institutions.
The Museum Photo Studio Seidel has a surprise in store for Wednesday afternoon. You can have an original photo portrait taken directly in the Brewery gardens in the style of the turn of the 19th and 20th century.
The Artistic Elementary School of Český Krumlov Festival will bring music, dance and theatrical performances. Ensembles of the House of Children and Youth will also perform.
This is not yet all of it. Here are some other highlights from the schedule which is aimed for children and adults: Maypole erection, lighting of the bonfire, dance ensembles performance, concerts of 2 bands - Parní Wanna and Chlapi v sobě or a paper lantern procession.
Select local museums and galleries will open their doors on Thursday 1 May afternoon and give you an opportunity to visit them for free or with a discount. Commented town tours with local guides are a new addition to this event.
