The International Music Festival Český Krumlov is the longest summer music festival in the CzechRepublic.
Petr Vok, the last male heir of the famous House of Rosenberg died on 6 November 1611. His death has ended the Rosenberg reign over Southern Bohemia which has lasted for nearly 400 years. Four centuries will have passed from this significant event in 2011.

The dominant feature of the IMF will be traditionally the opening opera gala concert which will belong to two opera stars this time - charming soprano Angela Gheorghiu and congenial tenor Ramón Vargas. They will be accompanied by PKF - Prague Philharmonia under the leadership of Leoš Svárovský.

This eight-nave chapel of Our Lady Dolorous and the Holy Cross built in 1710 is vaulted by an eight-part arch and covered with a tent-like roof topped with a lantern and a double cross.

THIS YEAR´S TOPIC: This year we will remember an important event that took place in 1587 AD – the wedding of William of Rosenberg and Polyxena of Pernštejn. Guests from near and far will gather in Krumlov to take part in the wedding feast at the Brewery Gardens and several other places around the town together with our visitors. There will be guests arriving from Italy, Greece, Germany, Austria but also from the distant New World. Exquisite gifts will be presented to our sovereign, for example a genuine Italian gondola that will sail the Vltava river waters. Historical processions will pass through the town and a rich schedule of events across ten stages the town awaits all wedding guests.
Benešov nad Černou was founded in the second half of 13th century by Beneš of Michalovice as a settlement nearby the stronghold.
The fortified settlement of Chlum founded in the 13th century was reconstructed several times during its existence. Those reconstruction led to the fact that the settlement was changed into the farm yard in the 17th century.
The buildings of the fortified settlement are a remarkably valuable example of the Renaissance style of the 16th and the 17th centuries.
Only the torso of the sizeable residential tower was preserved. The tower had a square plan and the length of the sides was 9 metres.

From the time the castle was established by Vítek z Krumlova (1220 - 1272) in the 13th century, it performed the function of a fortress and an administrative centre of the estates that were part of the growing dominion of the members of the Witigonen family. Their estates were spread on the both sides of today's border between the Czech Republic and Austria.

The protected area is formed under wet woods and wet meadows in the forest complex. The reason protection is an extensive set of natural spruce and alder on springs along small watercourses and peat meadow communities with characteristic floristic composition.

Pilgrimage church of the Virgin Mary - the original church structure is from the late 13th century. The church was destroyed during the Hussite wars in 1422 and 1469, when the militia destroyed a school as well. Today's church was built in late Gothic style from 1471 to 1488. St. Jan Nepomucký´s Statue created in 1726 is located on a three-sided column with reliefs of St. Dominik, St. Leonard, and St. Václav, and statues of St. Donát, St. Florián, and St. Roch.
Formerly on the site was a chapel or little church of St. Jošt. The church was established before 1334 by Peter I. von Rosenberg, and was a part of the Rosenbergs´ hospital (Latrán No. 13). The building remains with the preserved Gothic constructions and details.

The 9th annual St. Wenceslas Celebrations will pay a tribute to St. Wenceslas who is patron not only to Bohemia but also to the town of Český Krumlov. Old time favorites in the program will include traditional songs and dances inspired by the folklore, the popular open-door night of museums and galleries, old Bohemian cuisine and marketplace.
Hluboká and Vltavou Chateau are unquestionably one of the true pearls of the Czech Republic. It is situated on a hill above the Vltava river about 10 km north of České Budějovice.
The first and decisive impulse to build the Stations of the Cross in Frymburk parish gave landowner from Lipno Adalbert Donauer, who at the beginning of ninetieths of 19th century paid six hundred of golds „for granitiform Stations of the Cross“. Chapel was solemnly consecrated on 13. October 1898.
Built in Nouveau-Romanesque style in 1909 by the local Jewish community, the Cesky Krumlov Synagogue features an eight-sided tower with Torah-shaped windows.
The locality of Studenec near Rožmberk nad Vltavou is called after a well with miraculous water. There was a supported document issued in 1679 proving that it is allowed to celebrate masses in the newly built chapel. The chapel was given the name of St. Anna.
In 1843,because of the rusty condition the fountain was abolished, and a new one was built by the Plague Column in the upper part of the square.
The Italian Courtyard is one of the most remarkable buildings in the historical centre of the city. The building was given its present appearance in the 16th century, when several Gothic houses were joined together.
A lime tree in the community of Běleň not far away from Malšín has a very interesting fate. The lime tree is said to be the oldest lime tree in the South Bohemia. It was planted around the year 1200. In 1951 the lime tree / girth 12,5 metres / seemed to die after it had been thunderstruck. However, something very surprising happened. While the community of Běleň became extinct, the lime tree is still alive.
This mirror labyrinth with the biggest number of mirrors in the Europe has been designed to create an effect of indefinite corridors and mirage. It is followed by a unique crystal labyrinth made of clear glass. Don ´t miss this extraordinary experience and come to get lost with us. Till end of October 2011.

Only the ruins of the castle's fortification, fragments of the semicylindrical bastion and vigorous cylindrical tower situated on a narrow rocky spit above the Malše river were preserved to the present day.
From Větřní on the main road up to a narrow asphalt road leading to a farm track - continue on a wide road, right up to the top of the hill above the village Kaliště - go through the village, and take the path leading to the saddle above Slavkov (in the village there is an old Fortified Settlement Slavkov) - on the blue line in the direction of Světlík - after 3 km turn to the Fortified Settlement Pasovary ( about 500 m) - return to the blue line and continue to Světlík
From Věžovaté Pláně on the red line in the direction of Kaplice - through the forest to the destroyed village Rojov - in front of the ruins right to the non marked path, and on it to the road - left to the area of the destroyed village Zahrádka (sign posts on the linden tree), continue on the blue line via Močerady to Rožmitál na Šumavě - at the top end of the village turn left on to a unmarked path, which leads through Čeřín to the Vltava river - in front of the bridge turn right, on the red line to Zátoň.
Vrábče - by the yellow line up to the top of the Kluk mountain (741 m above sea level) - from the top down by the green line to Mříčí - continue to Holubov to the factory Artypa - by the yellow through the valley of the Křemže stream to the ruin of the Castle Dívčí Kámen - return to the red line, go around the whole ruin up to the Vltava river - return to the stream, cross the bridge and take the unmarked path, then the wide road it leads into, and up to the Celtic oppidium in Třísov . by the red line through the village Třísov, after 3 km to Plešovice - continue on the red line to Zlatá Koruna (Monastery Zlatá Koruna)
The protected area consists of mixed forest on the eastern slope debris high stone (865 m), 1.2 km southwest of the village Klení.
The monastery was founded by Wok von Rosenberg in 1259. He called the Cistercians from Wilhering in Austria to there. On a wish of the founder the monastery became the monastery of the family. Together ten generations of the family were buried there.
Below the town square, at Kájovská ulice no.68 in a newly reconstructed Renaissance house, a new wax museum was opened in May of 2001.
