Český Krumlov will say farewell to a year in which we celebrated the 700th anniversary and welcome a New Year, rich with cultural events. If you prefer a quiet, relaxed celebration, you will surely select one of the local hotels or guesthouses. If however you wish to celebrate New Year with lively entertainment, come to the town center. The Svornosti square will turn into a grand dance floor where you can dance through the night into the New Year and the celebrations will culminate with a fabulous fireworks display. The outline of the Castle tower, picturesque little houses bellow the Castle illuminated by multi-coloured fireworks, reflection of lights from the river surface ... This is a sight not to be missed! On top of that, many local hotels, restaurants, pubs and bars have prepared a first-class New Year's Eve menu from Czech and international delicacies. You can also enrich your program with a special sightseeing tour of the town that will focus on Christmas customs and stories, or with a New Year's Eve concert.
A festive New Year's Eve concert will take place on 31 December at 5 pm in the Bellevue hotel with Melodie. You can listen to music by Mozart, Gounod, Ryba and others but also to Moravian folk songs. You can also welcome the New Year with a New Year's Eve concert on the 1 January at 4 pm in The Old Inn Hotel. Pieces by Vivaldi, Mozart, Dvořák, Bach and others will be played. You can also visit one of the many museums and galleries of Český Krumlov.
