A colour-filled autumn in Český Krumlov 

Český Krumlov is clad in multi-coloured autumnal hues, the water traffic on the Vltava river is winding down and there are less tourists in the little town streets. The museums and galleries of Český Krumlov are however still luring the visitors and anybody can choose from the varied offer of events .

Festival barokních umění The first weekend of October will bring you to times long past, into the Baroque period. The Festival of Baroque Arts (1-3 October) brings you music but also dancing from this period. You can look forward to the modern age premiere of a Baroque opera in the impressive environment of the Castle Baroque theatre, to Baroque dances performed by the Hof-Dantzer ensemble and to an organ matinee.

After a year the Ekofilm (4-10 October) film festival on environment, natural and cultural heritage returns to Český Krumlov. Biodiversity is the principal topic of this year. As in the previous two years, the actor Jaroslav Dušek will moderate the festival. A total of 61 films from dozens of world countries are participating in the competition. Ekofilm however is not only about films but also about a number of meetings with interesting guests, seminars, roundtable discussions, exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances and other associated events. You can visit a theatrical performance named The World of Toltec, a Yo Yo Band concert with Richard Teasařík and other events.

Krumlovský vodácký maraton The waterman season is coming to the end and it is important to bid it goodbye in style - with the Krumlov Watermen Marathon (9 October). The professionals but also amateur sportsmen and water sports lovers are braving the Vltava waters and with full dedication are competing for the first prize in the largest river marathon in the Czech Republic. This event is not only about sports: you can visit the Eggenberg brewery gardens for games and competitions for children and also for entertaining theatrical and musical performances.

Come join us for a walk through the history of Český Krumlov! The first part of the exhibition Story of Český Krumlov is now open in the Regional Museum. This exhibition reminds the visitors of both joyous and tragic events in the history of the town from ancient ages until the year 1945.  You will be able to witness the story written and lived by the inhabitants of Český Krumlov through documents but also through photographs and paintings.

Take also the unique opportunity to visit the exhibition in the Egon Schiele Art Center dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Egon Schiele´s birth. Here you can see original works by this important expressionist, including pieces from private exhibitions which were never displayed before.

Music lovers will be pleased by a number of concerts. You can visit the Ántré theatrical club for a concert by Jan Rejžek (19 October), or the Castle Riding Hall for a concert of the first lady of Czech soul, Marie Rottrová with the Neřež band (21 October). The schedule is completed by a few concerts by the pupils of the Elementary Artistic School (14, 16 and 26 October).
