The International Music Festival Cesky Krumlov will celebrate 20 years of its existence in 2011 with a rich program, which will feature not only the"three tenors" Placido Domingo, Ramon Vargas, and Jose Cura, but a total of 15 concerts of various genres, which will feature 3 symphonic orchestras, 11 chamber orchestras and ensembles and about 30 artists from all around the world. The concerts will take place at five different locations in Cesky Krumlov. City Park P2 "below the post office" will be an entirely new venue - Placido Domingo will perform there. There will also be the traditional series of 6 opera performances at the Revolving Auditorium in cooperation with the Theater of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice - this time it will host another significant opera singer, Jose Cura, in a new version of Leoncavallo's I pagliacci.
The three tenors are really not everything that the attractive menu of the festival offers this year. The twentieth year will feature also violoncellists Mischa Maisky and Kyrill Rodin, violinists Tanja Becker-Bender, Vaclav Hudecek and Ivan Zenaty, legendary jazz trumpetist Arturo Sandoval and musical singers from the very Broadway. The tradition of music and gastronomic national nights will continue with a presentation of Slovakia and the needed summer refreshment certainly come also via flamenco interpreted by guitarist Carlos Pinana and a night of Argentinean tango - Tango Soiree.
