Krumlov River Marathon is the biggest sporting event in the town and one of the largest sporting events of the South Bohemian Region. The fourteenth annual Marathon will take place in its usual time - the second weekend in October when canoeing fans from near and far will gather in Český Krumlov. Organizers again expect more than a thousand participants from many different countries.

Top canoeists who regularly participate in great international events such as European and World Championships will again participate in the race. The Slovak Matěj Beňuš, silver medal holder in single canoe race from this year´s Rio Olympic Games will be one of the many excellent participating sportsmen. Only one person can claim the Marathon laurel wreath however there will be many other interesting battles during the race between both professional and amateur canoeists. Marathon participation is not limited and so truly everyone can race together with top sportsmen.

This knockout race will take place directly in the town centre and we can expect tough direct duels between the best competitors.
