Srnín village was under the colonization activity Zlatá Koruna monastery. Name of the village is found in written sources in the form Srnyn, or Sermin Srnín and is derived from the name Srna, Srnův Court. The first written mention of the village Srnín from 1400 In 1440 is listed as part of Srnín rájovské magistrate within Zlatá Koruna estate. Srnín village belonged from the earliest times to the parish and the people Černická Srnín therefore went to St.. Mary Magdalene in Černice. In 1676 the parish Černická statement indicates that lived in the village Srnín 64 souls. As a consequence of the monastery after the Hussite wars the monastery was left around the mid-16th century from the original 13 Rychtera only 2 - and Černická rájovská, which included the village Srnín. Srnín was directly owned by the monastery until its abolition in 1785, when the village became part of the Český Krumlov estate. After the abolition of the nobility as in 1848 Srnín was incorporated as a village under the municipality Přísečná. In 1931 the village received its first independence. The process of combining and distributing a few more times and repeated 1.8 1990 was reinstated Srnín independent municipality.
In 1903 a chapel was built in the village. In 1929 the square was a memorial to the fallen vojínům in the First World War. A monument made from the sculptor Kuneš Czech Budejovice. In 1932 he was granted a divorce after the electricity grid square to the public and private lighting. With the construction of water supply began in 1948 and the following year, most houses in the village connected to water supply. In 1953, the waiting room built in the village square, in 1960 launched the local bakery and in 1961 became operational local radio.
In connection with the former developments were built in 1937 around 4 Srnín concrete strength, which were fitted from the outset of military guards. In 1938, in the municipality and Srnín Přísečná build trenches. After the conclusion of the Munich Agreement Srnín village remained part of the Czechoslovak state.
