Český Krumlov Uncovers its Magic Once More

Songs of favourite Krumlov's bands, inside view of blank spots in Krumlov's history, games for children, evening parade with lampions, an official introduction of a unique book of photographs and much more brings this year's festival Magical Krumlov, which takes place in Cesky Krumlov from April 30 till May1, 2009. This is one of the events celebrating the 700 years of the town existence.

Apart from the main part of the programme, which takes place in the Eggenberg Brewery Garden, other events are held on Svornosti Square, Jesuits Hall in Hotel Ruze and Castle Riding Hall. During the festival, Svornosti Square is renamed to Square of Love. Thursday's afternoon programme in the Brewery Garden is devoted to parents and their children. Favourite Cesky Krumlov bands Abigail, Black Bottom or Orient together with short introductions into Cesky Krumlov history and video projections as a part of Papouškovo sirotci band promise great music and fun experiences within afternoon and evening of April 30.  After 10 pm Josef Prokopec and Milena Nováková introduce their new book of photographs Metamorphosis devoted to Cesky Krumlov and its 700th anniversary.

This year it is the first time for the IV. South Bohemian festival of children's choirs VLTAVSKÉ CANTARE organized by local children's choir Medvíďata and Society of Cesky Krumlov Children's Choir to contribute to the festival's programme. 

Magical Krumlov opens the doors of the following museums and invites everyone to visit for free:   Art Gallery in Václavské sklepy, Cesky Krumlov castle, Czech Culture Gallery at Máselnice, Cesky Krumlov castle, Museum Fotoateliér Seidel or Museum of Architecture and Crafts. And finally, Cesky Krumlov Castle comes up with a little surprise for all locals and visitors.
