Český Krumlov - This Time in a Magical Cloak

Spring has arrived to Český Krumlov, the town has celebrated Easter and it is already decorating and sprucing up its magical cloak. The town will change into a magical Krumlov from 30 April to 1 May.

The magical atmosphere will enter the town on Friday afternoon when the main Svornosti square gets re-named to the Square of Love for one moth. The children will be able to spend an afternoon filled with games, draw a picture or bake their first sausages of the season over the fire in the Brewery Gardens. They can also help produce their own witch costumes and add witch-like make up. All little witches can later show off in a parade. The Elementary Art School in Český Krumlov organizes a festival filled with musical, dance and theatre performances. The Krumlov Fair will be a presentation of local non-profit organizations, ensembles and societies and their activities throughout the year. Museum Photoatelier Seidel has prepared a little surprise for the afternoon. You can obtain an original postcard with your portrait in the Museum gardens in the style of our grandparents and send a greeting to your loved ones. Included in the programme is also the joint maypole decoration and erection, a lantern procession or an evening mêlée of concerts "All the Stars above Krumlov". Friday evening will be concluded by lighting the traditional fire.

Saturday morning will be livened up by the music by the band Black Bottom performing on the Square of Love. You can also relax at a terrace in one of the many restaurants and cafés. During the May open-door afternoon of museums and galleries you can visit the Czech Culture Gallery, International Art Gallery or the Museum Photoatelier Seidel where you can collect a unique First of May photograph. Or you can choose to visit the State Castle and Chateau Český Krumlov in a special viewing tour "A Walk Through the Centuries".
