ČESKÝ KRUMLOV REGIONAL MUSEUM

..

One of the many attractions of Český Krumlov is its museum in Horní Street, just a few steps away from the Town Square, housed in a dominant building, formerly a Jesuit Seminary in the years 1650 - 1652, from which there is one of the most beautiful views of the Ceský Krumlov panorama. A branch of the museum is also the birth place of Adalbert Stifter in Horní Planá, at Lake Lipno, where the life and works of the "Poet of Šumava" are mapped out.

HISTORICAL MAPPING OF THE AREA
FROM PREHISTORY TO THE END OF THE 19TH CENTURY

Permanent exhibits: Archaeological, artistic, artisan, ethnographical collections and items of applied art. Some of the most interesting exhibits are a collection of Gothic sculptures, traditional local costumes, examples of peasant furniture, equipment from the original Jesuit apothecary and a unique detailed ceramic model of the town in a scale of 1 : 200.
