22. Early Music Festival Český Krumlov 2020
From 10. till 13. 7. 2020, the summer Early Music Festival takes place in Český Krumlov. It is traditionally dedicated to the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque music.
The Early Music Festival stands out for its uniqueness, as it is performed exclusively by ensembles specialized in performing early music using copies and replicas of historical musical instruments and familiar with contemporary musical interpretation. The unique environment of sacred objects adds authenticity to the music.
The theme of the 22nd year of the festival is the sacred music of medieval monasteries - the concerts will feature Gregorian chants, mystical songs of women's monasteries, pilgrimage songs and medieval music from the time of Charles IV. The festival program also includes professional lectures on medieval music and spiritual history.
Concerts and professional lectures will take place in the cloister of the Minorite monastery in Český Krumlov.
