34. Annual Chamber Music Festival Český Krumlov

From June 28 to July 25, 2020, a festival with the longest tradition in the town will take place in Český Krumlov. This year's 34th Chamber Music Festival will offer listeners a total of eleven concerts. The festival, which will open on 28 June in the 1st courtyard with the Schwarzenberg Guard Jazzband, will graduade on 24 and 25 July by the Baroque Night in Český Krumlov Castle ®.

Baroque Night at the Český Krumlov Castle® is a stunning experience, where the castle gardens will come to life when the Eggenbergs and Schwarzenbergs were the local lords. It is they who have the greatest credit for building a magnificent Baroque theater. Celebrations and fun, ceremonies and rituals, the desire for representation and the show was inherent in the 18th century.

The Baroque night at the Český Krumlov Castle is full of dances, music, theater, promenades, gastronomic experiences, nobles, elegance, but also mood and merriment in the magical atmosphere of the flickering candle flame in the contemporary interiors and exteriors of the castle. Performing performers specializing in the authentic execution of Baroque art.

This year, as part of the Baroque Night at Český Krumlov Castle®, visitors can look forward to the modern world premiere of Franz Ferdinand Arbesser's opera A Wedding Happily Arranged by the Power of Cupid and Hymen, from 1745. The opera will be performed by the Capella Regia ensemble under the guidance of Robert Hugo according to its copy maintained in the Český Krumlov archives.

One of the highly sought-after highlights of the festival programme is Music Through the Ages, which offers excursions of the castle interiors with live music played on contemporary musical instruments.
