Festival of Baroque Arts in Český Krumlov 2019

The 12th year of Festival of Baroque Arts in Český Krumlov presents from 20 to 22 September 2019 contemporary world premiere of baroque opera Demofoonte by Johann Adolf Hasse performed in Venice's Teatro San Giovanni Grisostomo on 26 December 1748.

The contemporary world premiere of festive opera Demofoonte will be performed by first-class baroque orchestra Hof-Musici, conducted by Ondřej Macek  and baroque gestures by Zuzana Vrbová.

The Baroque ensemble Hof-Musici, in cooperation with the Festival of Baroque Arts Český Krumlov, has been approaching Hasse’s works comprehensively. In 2007–2014, the ensemble presented four of Hasse’s full-length operas in the Český Krumlov castle theater; the operas had not been previously performed from the time of their creation (Semele, Tito Vespasiano, Enea in Caonia, Ipermestra).

There will be other memorable concerts taking place during the 12th Festival. Visitors can also attend the popular baroque fireworks and baroque illumination in the Castle gardens.
