The famous Lords of Rožmberk (Rosenberg) who once owned the dominion are back! The spirit of the Renaissance age is brought back to life for three days with the hubbub of jousts, craft fairs, medieval music, street plays, and fencing duels to culminate with the highlight of the festival – a spectacular procession in historical costumes featuring knights on horseback and many notables linked with the history of the town. No matter what the age or the expectations of the visitors are, all will certainly enjoy themselves.
This year we will remember the significant events from the years 1584 and 1585 when The Order of the Golden Fleece - the highest imperial honour – was awarded to William of Rosenberg.

6.45 – 8 pm Arcus – gothic worldly music of 12- 15th centuries from all corners of Europe which contains a certain roughness of the times of its origin. The medieval roots of the music are in harmony with a modern interpretation. The band also performs its own musical pieces.
8.45 – 10 pm Quanti Minoris – castle rock a. k. a. medieval street big beat. This band plays history-inspired folk and rock with Celtic roots. The band´s repertoire is made up of songs to poems of medieval authors. The music score is an original and it is only inspired by the music from the turn of the medieval and modern ages. The medieval melody gets a modern rock treatment using replicas of medieval musical instruments. Their particular music style is hard to pin down but that makes it more intriguing by its variety in sound and rhythm.
10.45 – 12 am Krless – this legendary medieval music band performs European music from the 13 – 15th centuries, i.e. from the high medieval period. Their music contains echoes of medieval spirituality, a tavern folk dance as well as oriental sensuality and modern rock drive. Krless interprets medieval music in the medieval crossover style. Do not expect a living history style reconstruction or any attempts of a “truly medieval” interpretation. Instead Krless liberally transform medieval music with the energy expected by the modern audience. They often mix musical styles and medieval music Krless-style is a mixture of original ancient music, present-time folk, folklore, blues, rock as well as Jewish and Arabic music.
