BRAN will be the warm up band before Alan Stivell.
BRAN started in 1999 by a meeting of Breton and Czech musicians. Bran means a raven in Breton, a mesenger from Celtic legends. The one who brought Celtic music to Central Europe... and Easterly wind to the shores of the Atlantic. Bran builds on the tradition of sharing and exchange through Bretan and French languages. The messenger brought by the wind from Awen knows no boundaries. The band finds their inspiration between the land and the sea. Individual musical instruments and blending of various musical styles lend a curious multi-coloured style to Brand, making it truly original. Bran performs mostly traditional dancing music and sea songs. Their repertoire is varied and includes both original compositions by individual musicians and traditional melodies. Lately the band has been performing on many European stages apart from the Czech Republic and France. More than eight hundred concerts and five albums bear witness to the journey travelled by the band supported by their fans so far. The band performers: Sara Navarro - vocals, percussion; Vojtěch Jindra - acoustic guitar, percussion; Tomáš Görtler - accordion; Robert Fischmann - flute, low whistle, percussion, vocals; Michal Wróblewski - soprasaxophone, altsaxophone; Petr Tichý - string bass; Radim Chrobok - drums, percussion.
