Jacob Canter: Rosa Rosensis (1497), translated by Jakub Šimek.
A modern-age premiere of the poem celebrating the Rosenberg dynasty performed by the members and guests of Dyškanti ensemble in the form of a musical and scenic performance where not only complete text of the play will be read but also period music will be performed. The music was selected and the performance was rehearsed by the leader of the ensemble Martin Horyna.
The ensemble Dyškanti from České Budějovice is devoted to an authentic interpretation of vocal and instrumental music from 15th and 16th centuries. The repertoire of the ensemble is based on the scientific explorations of Martin Horyna, a musical historian and author of a number of publications on Czech musical history. Philologist Jakub Šimek is another member of the ensemble. He has studied Germanics on the Heidelberg University and he is also a translator of old Latin poetry.
