Budweiser Budvar brewery is one of the most successful food-production enterprises for many years in the Czech Republic. Almost half of the production is successfully exported into more than 50 countries in the world.
Budweiser Budvar possesses valuable intellectual property in the form of 380 trademarks registered in 101 countries in the world.
About 700 employees work in Budweiser Budvar.
The modern history of the brewery began in 1967 when the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic established the national enterprise Budějovický Budvar (Budweiser Budvar, N. C.) as the direct successor of Czech Share Brewery. It has produced beer in České Budějovice from 1895 and continued in a more than 700-year old tradition in the production of beer in České Budějovice (formerly Budweis).
The quality and unique character of Budweiser Budvar beer is based on the use of the best domestic raw materials: the highest quality heads of Žatec hop, selected Moravian malt, especially the company’s own culture of yeast and virgin clear water from 300 m deep artesian wells.
Kinds of produced beers: Budweiser Budvar Czech Premium Lager, Budějovický Budvar Pale Beer, Budweiser Budvar Premium Dark Lager, Budweiser Budvar non-alcoholic beer, Bud Super Strong (special beer), Budweiser Budvar Krausened Lager, Pardál.
Since 2007 Carlsberg premium imported lager.
During its existence Budweiser Budvar has received a series of awards on the part of customers, as well as brewing experts in the Czech Republic, as well as abroad. One of the most important is the first golden medal from the Work Fair in Prague in 1896. This is followed by the “hattrick” triple two golden medals for the lagers Budweiser Budvar and special Super Strong in the competition World Quality Selections organized by the International Institute for Assessment of Quality in Brussels, Luxembourg and Lisbon in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Some of the domestic awards are, for example, nine Beer of the Year titles (1996, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006) for the lager Budweiser Budvar from the readers of the magazine “Pivní kurýr” (Beer Courier).
