European Heritage Days is important cultural and educational event throughout the whole Europe which aims to enlarge knowledge about other cultures, to protect the cultural heritage and to respect any culture no matter where it is spread. The first event of this kind called The Days of Sights for Free took place in France in 1984. Every year in September various sights, buildings, historical areas including those partially or totally inapproachable open for visitors. The national theme for the year 2006 is "The imprint of famous names - historical buildings where famous people lived". The town of Jičín will become the main host for the year 2006 at the national iniciation on 9th September. Český Krumlov sights open for public:(see níže)

Within the framework of EHD in Český Krumlov a cycle of lectures for broad public will be held. It is called:
Restoration of Český Krumlov sights in the years 1990 - 2005
which will take place in the lecture hall of Český Krumlov Regional Museum.
The lectures will be focused on three up-to-date topics:
Changes of the town till the year 1990
Restoration of the town after the year 1990
The problem of preserving ordinary city life in an important tourist locality.
The lecturers are not only local professionals in preserving of historical sights, but also personalities involved in cultural life and artists:
Jana and Jan Peškovi, J. Hansová, J. Bloch, doctor E. Davidová, Mr. Bulíř, V. Girsa, P. Slavko, J. Škarvada, D. Šnejd, M. Maršík, M. Tošovská, P. Pavelec, M. Štěpánek, J. Ungermann, J. Olšan, H. Jirmusová, J. Havlík, M. Borsanyi, M. Páral, V. Konvalinková, T. Jirsa, S. Jungwirth, M. Pásková, H. Kodíčková, R. Přibyl. J. Hladký, K. Vošková, J. Pausch and others.
The cycle is followed by the tour in these buildings:
Dlouhá Street 30, Parkán Street 104, Svornosti Square 11, 55 - Zlatý Anděl Hotel
-the actual time will be specified in the museum.
On Saturday 9th September from 3 p.m. a tour in the closter accompanied by Mgr. Jiří Bloch´s professional commentary will take place.
For both of the two days an exhibition of Jiří Havlík´s humorous collages and sculptural installation called Erratic Blocks can be seen in the Museum of Architecture and Craft.
