Autumn Magic of Český Krumlov and St. Wenceslas Festival

 
Last September´s weekend in Český Krumlov is devoted to St. Wenceslas, the patron of Czech lands and Český Krumlov town, wine growers and brewers. St.Wenceslas Festival is the celebration full of good food and drinks, dancing and singing. Let yourself be enchanted by this festival and autumn atmosphere in Krumlov. This year´s festival program brings traditional events as well as novelties. This year is very a very special one to Český Krumlov as the town is celebrating the 700 years of its existence. Come to Český Krumlov and join St. Wenceslas Festival on September 25 - 28, 2009!

From Friday September 25, the old town streets and nooks will host the third year of the International Folklor Festival. Folk dances groups from the Czech Republic, Moravia and France will give performances at the Town Square Svornosti as well as Český Krumlov Romany music bands Cindži renta and Orient.

A novelty of this year´s festival are demonstrations of ballooning. Visitors to the festival may admire how a fleet of balloons flights over the old town.

Date of Wenceslas and Wendies (Václavs and Václavkas). This special occasion brings together people with these names to meet up and sign in to the memory book. A message for future generations, concerts by many different music bands, a launch of the book " Story of Český Krumlov ", signing competition "Czech talents 2009 South Bohemian Sparrow" afternoon for children with games, pony riding and competitions - this is just few tips taken from the Festival´s program.
During the Night of Open Museums and Galleries, Český Krumlov museums and galleries will be opened for free till midnight. On the other hand, Day of Open Hearts is a day program designed especially for children. Accompanied by parents, children can visit for free the Castle Baroque Theatre, underground of the graphite mine, St.Vitus church or St.Wenceslas chapel.

Historic market will present old crafts products, stum, wine and other delicacies. All this and more can visitors see and taste at the Town Square Svornosti including Czech Budweiser (Budvar) tap beer. Český Krumlov restaurants will offer St. Wenceslas menus so there will a great choice of traditional Czech food all over the place.
