Angelic creative activities, fabulous market, craft workshops and commented advent tours - all this is waiting for you in pre-Christmas time in Český Krumlov Monasteries!
There is a lot of common craft, exploring and culture prepared for you. On November 24th the Krumlov potter Karel Dvořák and his friends will present alternative possibilities of ceramics firing with a gas flame on the Monastery courtyard.
The first advent Saturday, December 1, we will welcome with a monastic fair and crafts, and in the evening students of the International School of Prague will visit Český Krumlov for and will present their old English spiritual compositions.
On December 8 and 22 at 3:15 pm, you are cordially invited to a special commented advent tour of the monasteries (in English).
On December 15, the fairy tale market will be made more varied with Christmas creation of all the shining or scented. You can also enjoy the traditional Czech Christmas Mass by J. J. Ryba performed by the String Orchestra of Český Krumlov and the Church Choir Velešín.
In the Interactive exposition, the new exhibition "SALT OVER GOLD OR IT IS POSSIBLE TO COOK WITHOUT SALT?" which will appeal to the whole family, is waiting for you! The exhibition will present some of the most famous stylized scenes from the phenomenal Czech fairy tale. During the exhibition, you can create your own salt picture and participate in the competition for an adventure stay in Salzburg region for the whole family!

Permanent exhibition
The Český Krumlov Monasteries exhibition in the former Minorite monastery acquaints visitors with the history of the Minorite Order as well as the rich architectural history of the grounds.
The interactive exhibition of human skills and the arts of our ancestors presents visitors with the traditional knowledge and skills of medieval monasteries. Visitors can look through an alchemist's kitchen and learn about how food was stored in the Middle Ages. Period quarters demonstrate how people lived during the Gothic and Renaissance periods, and you can even try historical clothing. Another attraction is the herbal workshop and soap workshop, recently extended to include new interactive features. In the scriptorium, you can create your own stencil decoration, try writing with a quill, or have fun in the playroom with replicas of medieval toys, machines, and inventions. For a spooky experience, visit the mysterious attic areas, where you'll witness a Danse Macabre, a Camera Obscura, and a large model of the historic center of this part of Český Krumlov.
The exhibition Life and Art in the Convent of the Poor Clares acquaints visitors with the monastic life of the Sisters of St. Clare in historical context of with medieval art and historical piety.
