Advent and Christmas in Český Krumlov
"The program offered starts on 2nd December on 1st Advent Sunday with the festive lighting of Christmas tree and lasts almost five weeks till the Three Kings´ Day. In the Christmas celebrations mostly Krumlov inhabitants are involved.The whole program opens up several tens of events, concerts or meetings. Only a minor part of them is organized by the town of Český Krumlov, Municipal Theatre and Český Krumlov Development Fund. It concerns only the basic program frame to which various program range prepared by local people,clubs and enterpreneuers joined,"Jan Vozábal,the director of Municipal Theatre stated.
During Advent also traditional Advent events contribute to the chill-out Advent atmosphere. Every Advent weekend (from Friday till Sunday) there will be Christmas fair on Main Town Square Christmas Fair offering crafts products and traditional Christmas goods. Municipal Theatre introduces a row of Christmas mise en scenes mostly for children. On 5.12.Saint Nicolas will distribute presents on the square, 12.12.is to honour Saint Lucy celebrated by the art happening of producing felt image.
Within the framework of the rich program of Advent celebrations traditional little Jesus postal office, Bear Christmas, Christmas town tours or Christmas concerts including traditional Ryba´s Mass will not lack. This year´s novelty is the charitable flea market and charitable concert in Travellers' Hostel. The yield will be donated to Children´s House in Horní Planá.
