After successful representation of three Krumlov juniors on17th Traunsee Open Senior Chess Championship in Gmundenwhere on 16th September international master Garry Kasparov played a simultaneous play against 27 opponents and Krumlov player Jiří Pahorecký was able to play with him the longest time of all, other town delegates set out to Austria.
On Saturday 22nd September within the framework of accompanying program Jana Jacková, the Czech master, played on the square in Gmunden part against Eva Moser, the Austrian master with white live chess from Český Krumlov, with pupilsfrom Za Nádražím Elementary Schoolwho were accompanied by teacher Lenka Korčáková and Jaroslava Plichtová. The Austrian played with black figures - the children from Gmunden.Chess figure costumes were borrowed from Český Krumlov Municipal Theatre. The two women drew the game.
14 Český Krumlov football players aged from 11 till 13 from T. G. Masaryk´s Elementary Schoolset out to Gmunden with their teacher Roman Rozkošný and they defeated local pupils 11:2. Český Krumlov children enjoyed a cableway trip on Grünberg mountain which is 1000 metres high over Traunsee lake and admired the beautiful view on Gmunden town and its beautiful surroundings.
The town leaders appreciate exemplary representation of Český Krumlov children on prestigeous championship and thanks active chess players, football players and live chess figures for good representation of the town abroad.
