Silver Screen Stars - exhibition at the Regional Museum in Český Krumlov

The main exhibition of the autumn/winter season is called "Silver Screen Stars" and it will present film and theatre stars of the First Republic and the Protectorate as well as their post-war fate through a collection of items. A large amount of items on display come from Adina Mandlová´s estate; there will also be items relating to other acting personalities (such as Nataša Gollová, Věra Ferbasová, Zita Kabátová, Soňa Červená, Svatopluk Beneš, Oldřich Nový etc.). In addition there will also be originals and reprints of film posters and period caricatures, period costumes and accessories - "Clothes Worng to The Movies and the Theatre", photographs, magazines, film schedules, books, a readers´ corner...

The exhibition festive opening will take place on Tuesday 18 October at 6 pm at the Regional Museum in Český Krumlov.

Adolf Born Or The Origin of a Post Stamp

Adolf Born - exhibition at the Regional Museum in Český Krumlov This travelling exhibition named "Adolf Born Or The Origin of a Post Stamp" is devoted to Adolf Born, our top graphic artist and author of popular drawings and it presents particularly his stamp creations as collected by the Postal Museum in Prague. The exhibition will take place in an intimate area of the ground floor corridor at the Regional Museum in Český Krumlov.

Adolf Born is the author of many postal stamps such as the special issue stamp set marking the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America (1992), designs of two stamps marking the 740th birth anniversary of the traveller Marco Polo, popular Christmas stamps in 2 CZK nominal value from 1993, artwork originals of stamps from the Europa cycle - with the theme Tales and Legends, a stamp For Children from 2003 (with Mach and Šebestová theme). The art collection is complemented by unique photos by Martin Říha documenting the Master´s creative process in his own atelier or in the location of the lithography workshop of Tomáš Svoboda in Prague. A curiously designed postal stamp mock up, model Zemánek, decorated by Adolf Born, will also be on exhibit.

The exhibition festive opening will take place on Tuesday 11 October 2016 at 6 pm at the Regional Museum in Český Krumlov.
